Tim Gates - Owner/Luthier
Tim began working on guitars in the early 90's while playing in various bands. He began setting up guitars and wiring pickups for friends and musicians in his inner circle in San Francisco. Eventually he began buying vintage acoustic guitars, upon which he performed all facets of repair work until he decided to make it a business. He also enjoys recording friends with his various microphones, modding old Akai/Roberts tube microphone pre-amps, fine art oil painting and especially playing music with his kids..
Jacob Gates - Guitar Tech
Jacob is a part time tech and currently he's finishing school in Oregon and jamming in his band. He's been playing music since he was 5 years old and grew up around the shop and has a natural feel for guitar setup.
